Literary structure (chiasmus, chiasm) of Gospel of Matthew

Chiasmus and Concentric Structure of divided by 3

Three centers in divided in three structures are "Concerning treasures" (no. 25, Mt. 6:19-21), "The tradition of the elders" (no. 73, Mt. 15:1-20), and "The parable of the talents" (no 121, Mt. 25:14-30). These pericopes have common theme about contrast between true values and false values. Though treasure in the earth and ritual customs have little values, these cannot justify worldly laziness. The relationships of those structures would emphasize not to stick to worldly desires, to store up treasures in heaven, and to live the days utilizing the given talents.
