[2]Hearing and doing the word  (James 1:19-27)
 
  A(1:19-20)  1:19 everyone should be quick to listen but slow to speak

[3]Warning against partiality  (James 2:1-13)

[4]Faith without works is dead  (James 2:14-26)
 
  A(2:14)  2:14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? (2:14)
    B(2:15-16)    2:16 you do not give them the necessities of the body, what good is it? (2:16)
      C(2:17)      2:17 So also faith of itself, if it does not have works, is dead. (2:17)

[5]Taming the tongue  (James 3:1-12)

    B(3:3-4)    3:3 If we put bits into the mouths of horses to make them obey us, we also guide their whole bodies. (3:3)
      C(3:5-6)      3:6 It exists among our members as a world of malice (3:6)
    B'(3:7)    3:7 For every kind of beast and bird, of reptile and sea creature, can be tamed and has been tamed by the human species, (3:7)

[6]Two kinds of wisdom  (James 3:13-18)
 
  A(3:13)  3:13 Who among you is wise and understanding? (3:13)   (σοφίας)
    B(3:14)    3:14 you have bitter jealousy and selfish ambition in your hearts (3:14)   (ζῆλον)
      C(3:15)      3:15 Wisdom of this kind does not come down from above but is earthly, unspiritual, demonic. (3:15)
    B'(3:16)    3:16 where jealousy and selfish ambition exist (3:16)   (ζῆλος)
  A'(3:17-18)  3:17 But the wisdom from above is first of all pure, then peaceable, gentle, compliant, full of mercy and good fruits (3:17)"   (σοφία)

[7]Friendship with the world  (James 4:1-12)
 
  A(4:1-3)  4:1 Where do the wars and where do the conflicts among you come from? (4:1)
    B(4:4-6)    4:4 Adulterers! Do you not know that to be a lover of the world means enmity with God? (4:4)
    B'(4:7-10)    4:7 So submit yourselves to God. Resist the devil (4:7)

[8]Boasting about tomorrow  (James 4:13-5:6)

    B(4:15-17)    4:17 So for one who knows the right thing to do and does not do it, it is a sin. (4:17)
  A'(5:1-3)  5:1 Come now, you rich, weep and wail over your impending miseries.(5:1)

[9]Warning to rich oppressors  (James 5:7-20)

      C(5:10-11)      5:10 Take as an example of hardship and patience, brothers, the prophets who spoke in the name of the Lord. (5:10)
